History
Colorado Information Technologies was founded in 1982 as Colorado Software Solutions. We initially focused on custom software development using the then-new PC's. Quickly becoming disenchanted with the support provided by local computer dealers, by 1984 we branched into selling and supporting PC computers and CP/M-based shared systems. In 1985 we became one of the earliest Novell dealers and have continued to service and support Novell networks to this day. In 1986 we merged with Dataways Computers, bringing in additional skilled staff and a larger customer base.
In 1995, with the Internet becoming established as an useful business tool, we added to our custom software and network support businesses by becoming an Internet service provider (ISP). Starting small (our initial backbone connection was a 128K ISDN line!), we grew primarily through word of mouth due to our superior service and support.
Our Internet service continued to grow through a T1 backbone, then a fractional DS3 connection, multiple circuits with diverse providers, and finally to full DS3 status.
At the same time our facilities evolved from a server on a desktop in the back of the office through a dedicated server room within the main office, to where we are now in a class-A dedicated Network Operations Center with redundant fiber-optic connectivity, onsite backup generator, multiple air conditioning systems, etc.
At the end of March, 2006, we sold our Internet Service Provider division to AcuLink of Pueblo. They continue to operate the ISP as CIT Internet. Please note that there is no longer any connection between us and CIT Internet.
Colorado Information Technologies, Inc. has continued since then to offer network and communication services. Our unique philosophy that specialized in service and support has continued to this day. By focusing our attention on the client's needs, we have built a large and loyal customer base.
